Jonah has been playing basketball since the end of November...let's just say it's been fun watching him learn. The Junior Jazz Program is great. It's over 2 months long starting in December, every Saturday (minus the holiday Saturdays). For the first month, a coach teaches all of the teams how to play basketball; from learning the different positions on the court to learning the terminology a referee would use. The coach that is in charge is the coach of the Kearns High School Girls Basketball team and she's amazing. She has so much patience with the kids and takes it one session at a time.
After that first month, then the teams play games against each other, but no score is kept. (Which I think is fantastic because at this age, it's not about winning, it's about learning the game).
Jonah has learned a lot from her and has loved it. I'm sure he will be participating in it again. He was grateful for all those who were able to come watch him at his games.
